Getting there Air Nearest airport: Agra (118 km/ 3 hrs), connected to Delhi, Khajuraho and Varanasi by Alliance Air. Taxi charges approx Rs 1,000 (return fare). Rail Gwalior Station, well connected to Delhi, Agra and state capital Bhopal by the Bhopal Shatabdi and to Mumbai by the Punjab Mail. Road From Delhi, drive to Agra on NH2, where NH3 that links Gwalior direct to Mumbai (1,086 km) via Nasik, Dhule and Indore begins. But even the bigger roads in Madhya Pradesh are pretty poor and from Agra and Indore till Gwalior you drive amidst heavy truck traffic. NH3 doesn’t compare with NH2 for road conditions. |
